Absence Management

Absence of employees can cost organisations in terms of both salaries and lost business continuity. Unless managed properly, absence can become a norm within the workplace. This has a detrimental effect on productivity, team working and motivation. We therefore must manage absence in the same way we manage any other part of our job to ensure positive results. Our employees expect us to deal firmly and compassionately with repeated absence in order to keep the business on course. Our workshop will help managers and employees to: Establish and implement an absence management policy - Understand the key causes of both short and long-term absence - Best practice methods to manage absence - Undertake the return to work interview and improve the skills and behaviours for conducting the interview appropriately - Understand the legal responsibilities for managing absence - Linking to the disciplinary process - Personal action planning. How to deal with repeat offenders and implement corrective action.

As in previous workshops we will also offer a special session answering questions specific to your own business. All you need to do is let us know your question beforehand and we will answer it on the day.

The workshop will be 1.5 hrs of useful guidance from HR consultants who are involved with these & issues on a day-to-day basis. There will be a maximum of 8 attendees to ensure that everyone gets one-to-one support, so book early.
